Green Lentil Stew

  • Green Lentil Stew


  • Soak lentils overnight (4 Cups Lentils with 6 cups water)
  • Then drain the lentils and add 5-6 cups of fresh water and bring to a boil
  • Add garlic, ginger, coriander powder (or parsley flakes), turmeric, bay leaf and a tsp of salt etc.

Let it simmer on low heat for 2-3 hours  
  • Add 1.5 cups of milk in it, and let it simmer for another ½ hour.  Add salt as desired.
    Fry onions, cumin seeds etc. in olive oil.  When browned, add the mixture into lentils, add salt to taste.

 

  • Garnish with cilantro
